Four dedicated indoor acrylic courts inside the Olympic Park's velodrome building, which makes this one of the best places in the capital to play on proper lines rather than tape. Twice-weekly social sessions are run by a trained activator and suit all abilities; court hire and a Picklemania league cover everyone else. Paddle and ball hire is £2.

The 54 best places to play in London
Four floodlit, dedicated pickleball courts in the grounds of Chiswick House, bookable pay-and-play with no membership. New court availability is released at 7am each morning and slots can be booked up to seven days ahead. Paddles and balls are £3 per person from the café, and the venue also runs socials and courses.
The landmark national sports centre runs a weekly senior pickleball social every Wednesday from 12pm to 2pm, with no experience necessary and all abilities welcome. It's a friendly, low-pressure way into the sport in south London, inside one of the country's most storied sports buildings.
Camden's flagship leisure centre lists pickleball among its sports-hall activities, making it one of the handiest inner-north-London options if you live along the Jubilee line. Sessions and court slots move around the hall timetable, so check the current week before travelling.
Barnet's busiest pickleball timetable: a Tuesday lunchtime group session plus court bookings on Monday, Tuesday and Friday afternoons, and a social club for anyone who'd rather be organised than organise. Courts open for booking seven days ahead.
The big Mill Hill sports complex runs an adults-only social pickleball session, a good fit if you'd like a game without the after-school crowd. Book through the Better app and check the hall timetable for the current slot.
Edgware's option has two distinct crowds: a 55+ session on Thursday late mornings and a Sunday 9am social for everyone else. Both are relaxed, rotating games, ideal for finding regular partners in north-west London.
A Kentish Town community sports hall where pickleball runs on the badminton courts with tennis-height nets, bookable in 40 or 60 minute slots. Straightforward, central and easy to get a court on a weekday.
South London's best-value drop-in: £2.95 on Wednesday lunchtimes, run by a facilitator who rotates the games and passes on tips (dinking gets a lot of airtime). Equipment is provided, and it's 16+.
Run in partnership with Pickleball England, Enfield's weekly social session on Thursday lunchtimes is pitched at all abilities, and there's a separate seniors session in the centre's older-adults programme. Ask the team to book your place.
Stoke Newington's leisure centre offers bookable pickleball courts in its sports hall, so it's one for an organised four rather than a turn-up session. Handy for Hackney and Islington players without a club.
A Haggerston community sports hall with pickleball courts bookable through the Better app. No kit? Paddles and balls hire at reception for £3.30 each, so you can turn up in trainers.
West London's large council sports complex is on Better's list of pickleball venues, giving Uxbridge and the Hillingdon suburbs a local option. Check the Better app for current court times before travelling.
Walthamstow runs social sessions led by a trained Sports Activator who keeps games flowing and mixes up the abilities, alongside ordinary court hire. A friendly first stop if you're new to east London's scene.
Court hire up to seven days ahead plus facilitated social sessions make Leytonstone a flexible option: book a court with friends, or come along solo and let the activator sort the rotation.
The northern end of the borough's trio of Better venues, with the same mix of bookable courts and activator-led social sessions. Useful if Chingford or Highams Park is closer than the Markhouse Road site.
Leyton's community sports centre rounds out Waltham Forest's pickleball offer with bookable courts and social sessions. Smaller and quieter than the borough's bigger centres, which is rather the appeal.
A modern sports hub inside Gunnersbury Park, with pickleball courts to book and equipment to hire on the day. Pair it with a walk round the park and it's a respectable Saturday.
North Kensington's leisure centre offers bookable pickleball courts with paddles and balls to hire, so a spontaneous game after work is perfectly doable. One of the few options in this corner of west London.
White City's pickleball courts are bookable throughout the week, and bats and balls are provided, so all you need are comfortable clothes and indoor trainers. Easy to reach from Shepherd's Bush.
